Beautiful Busy One Year Old

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of exploring downtown Nacogdoches with a beautiful 1 year old.  She wasn't sure what to think of me and my big black camera at first, but we became fast friends.  I really had a wonderful time getting to know her and her fun parents.  Thank you for allowing me the pleasure of capturing such an exciting milestone in your daughter's life.

We shared smiles, and silly faces, and then she shared her rocks with me. That's when I knew I'd won her over.

Mom and Dad wanted portraits that represented Nacogdoches.... Done!

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

This beautiful baby girl was born just a couple days after the last tiny little newborn I photographed!  :)  Two precious girls born at the end of May, have sure made June a busy month for me.  As I mentioned before, every session is SO different!  This entire session was photographed in the nursery with one little window, and with no siblings to share with, this little girlie had my full attention.  She slept the entire time, and was so laid back I was able to position her just about anywhere I wanted to!
Here are a few images from her session:

Sweet and Sleepy

I may have mentioned this a few times before, but I adore photographing newborns! This session was no different. Every family is unique and therefore, so are their sessions. Big brother got in on the action and as most cases, he wasn't sure how he felt about our photo session, and all the attention his little sister was getting. He of course kept things interesting in the beginning, but I like to think this image reveals his true feelings. :D After he decided to retire to the sandbox to play with Daddy; Mommy and I headed to the nursery. I cannot explain how excited I was to capture these images. I call this "Evolution of a Newborn Smile". Then we decided to dig in Mommy's jewelry box and play a little dress up. It's always such a privilege to be invited into a family's home to capture their first days together with a new addition. Thank you so much for allowing me the pleasure.

Recent Family Session

This family was such a pleasure to photograph. We enjoyed searching out locations in the SFA Arboretum for photographing and the boys were wonderful! I have to say, the littlest has a special place in my heart. As one of my preschool students this year, he and I know each other well. This image really shows his personality. I love his expression!

Houston Sessions

My two sessions in Houston were so much fun! I had the pleasure of photographing a set of brothers as well as a sweet little girl. These three just happen to be cousins so I'm going to post all their images together here. It was great exploring different areas of Houston to find great session locations. A special thanks to both moms for their patience while we drove/walked around. I think all our exercise really paid off... there were so many wonderful images to sort through when I got home. Here are just a few.

Sleepy and Snuggly

It has been way too long since I've had the opportunity to photography a newborn. These truly are the most challenging and most enjoyable sessions. It's always a game of patience but when you take your time, and the conditions are right, babies will sleep like a log and you can photograph them in all kinds of wonderful poses. Baby H was no exception. Her parents and I were sweating through the whole session, but she was happy happy as a clam. There are so many favorites from our Saturday together, these are just a few. Enjoy!

Another Sweet One Year Old

Sweet L had so many great expressions. She was so happy too, and even if she had a moment of frustration or started to fuss she would instantly laugh when her mommy started to fake sneeze! Sally thank you so much for entrusting your precious One Year Portraits to me. I know these images will be treasure for a long time.
