Calling All '09 Seniors!!!

I'm looking for Senior models to represent Thornton Photography for the 2009 school year. If you're currently a Junior and you want to earn some FREE STUFF then I've got a deal for you!

I'm looking for one young man and one young woman from each local high school to spread the word about Thornton Photography. Here's how it works, and what you get:

If you're interested all you have to do is fill out this application form. You can print it and send it in the mail or email it to me. Once you're 'hired' (and we have parental approval) we'll set up a free mini shoot for you over the summer. This will give me a handful of images to use for your rep cards and a brag book for you to show your friends.
  • Free session fees/two sessions. One mini shoot scheduled immediately after application approval.
  • 50 Free rep cards to pass out to friends
  • Free mini brag book that you keep after 3 of your referrals book a PAID session with me.
  • 5 free Facebook/MySpace images. You must leave one of these as your default image through graduation in 2009.
  • For every new senior client that mentions your name when booking a PAID session you get your choice of a $10 gift card (from Old Navy, American Eagle, Gap, and others) or a $25 print credit to Thornton Photography.

Do you think you have what it takes? For more details see Senior Representative Application or contact Allison at allison@thornton-photography.com .

Pink is for Girls!

I don't know when I last had the opportunity to photograph a girl, much less two! These beautiful sisters were so happy and so easy to work with. Reese and I talked all about princesses, ballerinas and of course her favorite color... pink! Her baby sister Rylie was all smiles and simply adorable. I really enjoyed having the opportunity to play with them last Saturday. Here's a sneak peek from their session.

The Results are In!

I've tallied up the results and we have a winner! We actually have three if you're counting second and third place prizes. Thank you all for participating in my first ever contest. It went better than I expected thanks to all of you who played. I will be updating my website with the winning images shortly. If you'd like to see them simply go to www.thornton-photography.com and click on the bright blue eyed baby. The next page is my site where the 3 winning images (plus an image I decided to keep) alternate every time it loads. If you'd like to scroll through them all, simply refresh the page a few times and the different pages will load.

Oh the winners? You wanted to know who won? Oh! Ha!

Our third place winner is .... Christy Hurst with image #8! The beautiful image of her daughter Holly and her new son-in-law Andy was taken during their engagement session last year.

Coming in at second place is .... Mandy Powell with image #1! Her handsome baby boy, Mason, had a 6 month session last fall during my portfolio building promo.

And our first place winner is.... Jenny Jones with image #6! Her adorable identical twin boys were a hit and everyone loved this affectionate image of them together.

Congratulations to all the winners. I will be contacting you shortly to arrange for delivery/pick-up of prizes. Thanks again to all who participated, and keep a look out for another contest this summer. I have big plans for July!

One Busy Family

I photographed these handsome boys last fall and we had so much fun at the park wearing cowboy boots and looking tough. This time I was able to go to their beautiful new home and capture them playing in their own room and climbing on their own furniture. Much to their dismay mom and I nixed the idea of the sai toys (modeled here by Raphael) being in the portraits. But they were troopers even after a morning birthday party an afternoon soccer game, and friends and relatives coming into town all before I even arrived. I really enjoyed playing with these guys, and it was so fun to see how much they've grown in the last six months.

I also had the privilege of bringing to life a portrait idea mom had been wanting for a while. According to mom, "GG" prays for her family, and our country for hours a day, and she really wanted something to remind her of "GG" and her daily love and dedication. I hope you like it Mandy, it turned out just as I'd hoped.

5 Days Left

I realize we're only two days into our contest... but I hate to say the voting seems a bit one sided already. Where is your competitive nature? Tell your family, friends, neighbors, friendly people at the grocery store, strangers on the street, anyone! There are prizes to be won and it's not too late for you!
