Second Time's a Charm

Saturday I had a re shoot for a model family. These guys are going up on Dr. Davis's wall next month. If you'll remember, it rained on our first attempt and things just didn't go as well as we'd hoped. So a month or so later, we get our do-over and I love so many of these I had such a hard time selecting what to show you.

Celeste - I felt like we all had so much more fun and were way more relaxed this time and I had no idea Mike liked to tease so much. It was great! Well, here's your sneeky peeky. :D
Mmmm... Love me some backlight!

Aren't these two just beautiful? The baby kept patting the ground wanting me to sit next to them. And here I was worried she would be all shy around me this time. Ha!

And this time, even the dogs decided to cooperate. Way to go Bear and Max!

I Can't Help Myself!

I know I said I'd post the winners on Monday, but seriously... why wait? You guys are probably as curious as I was to find out who won. Well, the results are in...

Our first place winner is photo #3! Congratulations Katie! (may want to give your MIL a huge hug)

Our second place winner (only 3 votes behind) is photo #4! Way to go Dari!

And third place goes to #5! Guess all that blogging and bribing worked. Congrats Amanda!

Fourth place was only 5 votes behind, and went to #1. Entry #2 was only 4 votes behind the fourth place winner. This was such a close race and I want to make sure everyone knows I stuck to the rules. A couple of votes came in after the 12:00 deadline, and a few votes that were put in the comment section on my blog; these were NOT counted in the tally. Thank you all for participating, and I will be contacting the winners shortly.

It's gonna be close!

Thank you all who have been voting in the blog contest. This race is so close! There are only 5 contestants but first, second, third and fourth place are all within two votes of each other! Yikes! There are four days left to vote, so if you have anyone else you can call on, do it! Every vote really does count!

Summer Family Portraits

What better way to celebrate summer than with some fabulous family portraits?! Dr. Davis and his beautiful family have been clients of mine since their daughter was a toddler. They were due for an updated family portrait and I was happy to oblige. Especially since I'm planning on choosing one for the display I'm creating in his office. Here are a few that jumped out at me when I first sorted through them.

Fun and Romantic Engagement!

Kellie contacted me recently and explained that she and her fiance had a small window of time in when they would both be in town and able to schedule their engagement session. I'm so glad it worked out that I could accommodate their schedule. These two took a while warming up to the camera. Who can blame them, Jason knew me all of 30 minutes and here I am asking him to move in close to Kellie and act like he was going to nibble on her neck. Ha! They were great sports and we really got some fun shots! I hope you'll agree after you see these Kellie and Jason. There are a lot more where these came from. I'm going to have a hard time narrowing them down.

Here are some that stood out to me while I sorted through them for the first time.
This one totally makes me think of Joey from "Friends"... Hey, how You doin'?

This old fashioned mural was such a cool backdrop. Perfect dip moment. :) A little vintage processing going on here too... not color but not fully black and white either.

Is it a little hot in here? Oh no, wait, it's just Jason and Kellie!

You two were so much fun! I really enjoyed hanging out with the two of you and wish you many blessings on your marriage.

Contest FAQ

I will continue to update this post as more questions arise. I did want to take the time to post some answers to a couple of questions that were brought up recently regarding the Independence day contest going on now.

1. Am I allowed to Photoshop my image? Technically, I probably wont be able to tell if you've added a bit of contrast or lightened your image in Photoshop or other photo editing program. However, it would be inappropriate to add in fireworks from a different photo, or swap heads. I don't expect the images entered to be anything but snapshots. Most people have point and shoot cameras and no photo editing software, lets keep the playing field as level as possible.

2. Does my image have to include my child? Nope! You can take a picture of a tree where you've carved the word Independence for all I care. :D Just as long as it represents the holiday. I would caution against entering a photo of another person's child. If you've taken the photo, and have permission to use their child's image, then I'll allow it. Keep in mind that their parents may want a share in your winnings though. Ha!
