Fresh Faces!

I've been reviewing my business over the last month, as I do every January, and was making note of changes I need to make. First, there will be some big changes in session and ordering procedures, but I'll give you more details on that soon. I'm also working on updating my website with images from 2008 sessions.

Most importantly, I am looking for some fresh faces for my website. I have some very specific looks in mind and would love some dark skinned models. I will be handing out cards to people I see that fit that image. Wait! Before you start stalking me, here are the details.

Only those I've personally handed promotion cards to, are eligible.

Participants are required to book before 3/1/09 and must sign a model release. I will be conducting these sessions only on the following dates. These sessions will last 30 minutes and will focus on certain shots I want to obtain for my portfolio.

There are some great perks for being a part of my little project. So call me to schedule your session soon! If you have any other questions I will gladly answer them over the phone.

Beautiful Sleepy Campbell

I met Campbell's mommy for the first time back in December. She called me (while still preggers!) and wanted to know more about the newborn sessions I offered. We set a date for a pre-session and the rest is history. Her house had some seriously gorgeous light, and I had just ordered my new lens. I was 'almost' as excited to meet baby Campbell as her mommy and daddy were. Well little Cami made her appearance 2 weeks earlier than expected. I secretly think she wanted to meet me too. :D This little girl was so sleepy, I didn't get even one image of her with her eyes open! The good side of that was, she let me move her, reposition her, and move her again, and never once woke up. As a result, we got some really fun images. Here's just a peek mom and dad. Enjoy

The first family portrait. *Sigh*

One of mom's few requests. Isn't the light just yummy?

Mom's other request. I love baby hats! So beautiful!

And an out-take. While trying to get set up for the flower pot shot, Campbell was startled. She lifted both hands in the air, but only one came down. She fell back to sleep with her arm straight up in the air. It stayed like this for about 5 or 10 minutes before mom and I decided to move it for her. Ha!

My New Baby

Okay, so the title is a little misleading, I'll admit. But seriously, this thing cost me almost as much as a hospital bill would be. The good thing is, it doesn't need to be fed, nor does it cry or poop.
I'm almost embarrassed to admit that this baby is my very first "L" series lens. I've been in business several years now, and well, yes, it took me this long to fork over the money. I guess I should explain that part of the reason it took me so long, is because I had to save up. Yup, I'm running my business debt free, so there's no way I was taking out a loan, or putting this sucka on a credit card. Nope! Not gonna do it. :)

Oh, but I'm so thrilled with my purchase. I've waited a long time for this, and finally, she's here. I think maybe I'll name her. Hmmm... suggestions are welcome. Well, here she is. My new Canon 24-70mm 2.8 L. Oh, and I did include some samples of her work too. :D She joined me for my first session yesterday too; I'll post those in a day or so.

My sweet boy, sharing his gum. Want some mommy?
Hee hee. Yes, my baby, same big eyes and happy disposition as the other two. I'm so blessed!

My beautiful girl, who loves to have her picture taken.
